A vintage Avon locket ring (sometimes called a "poison ring") featuring an oval black cabochon lid with banded gray striping that lifts open on a hinge to reveal a small compartment, originally designed to hold solid perfume. The compartment has been cleaned out and no longer holds fragrance.
Signed "AVON" stamped inside the shank. Gold-tone finish with a textured band; the gold wash shows light wear in spots, revealing the silver-tone base metal beneath.
